1. Overview
Setu is an AI sales agent for real estate developers and brokers, built by Kartavya Technology ("Kartavya Technology", "Setu", "we", "us", or "our"). Setu replies to buyer inquiries on WhatsApp, qualifies leads, shares brochures and pricing, and books site visits on behalf of our real estate customers ("Customers").
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you, whether you are (a) a visitor to this website, (b) a Customer who uses the Setu platform, or (c) an end buyer/prospect who messages a Setu-powered WhatsApp number on behalf of a Customer. If you are a buyer messaging a Customer's WhatsApp number, please also review that Customer's own privacy notice, since they control what property information is shared with you and remain responsible for their sales process.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information Customers provide to us
- Account details — name, business email, phone number, company name, and billing information when a Customer signs up for Setu.
- Business content — property listings, floor plans, brochures, pricing sheets, project details, and sales scripts uploaded so Setu can answer buyer questions accurately.
- Team access details — names, emails, and roles of a Customer's staff who log in to the Setu dashboard.
2.2 Information collected from buyers/prospects
- Contact details — phone number (via WhatsApp), and any name, email, or budget/preferences shared during conversation.
- Conversation content — the messages, questions, and responses exchanged with Setu, including voice notes or images sent for context (e.g., a floor plan request).
- Engagement data — inquiry source, site-visit bookings, appointment timings, and lead-qualification answers (e.g., budget, timeline, preferred configuration).
2.3 Information collected automatically
- Usage data from the Setu dashboard and this website — pages viewed, actions taken, browser/device type, and approximate location (from IP address).
- Log and diagnostic data used to secure the platform and troubleshoot issues.
3. WhatsApp & messaging data
Setu's core product operates over the WhatsApp Business Platform, which is provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. When a buyer messages a Setu-powered number, that conversation is processed through Meta's WhatsApp Business API infrastructure and our own systems so Setu can generate a helpful, accurate reply in real time.
To generate replies, Setu uses third-party AI language models (currently including Anthropic's Claude models) to interpret buyer messages and draft responses grounded in the Customer's property data. We do not use buyer conversations to train third-party foundation models, and we only send the context necessary to answer the specific inquiry.
Message content, phone numbers, and related metadata are stored on our infrastructure and made available to the relevant Customer's sales team so they can follow up, and are handled under this Policy and, where applicable, WhatsApp's own Business Messaging Policy and Meta's terms.
4. Google Calendar API & Limited Use disclosure
With a Customer's authorization, Setu can connect to a builder's or sales team's Google Calendar to check availability and schedule property site visits. Setu requests the following Google API scopes: calendar.readonly and calendar.events.
Data received via the Google Calendar API is used solely to check the authorizing user's availability and to create, update, or manage calendar events for scheduling site visits within the Setu application, consistent with the feature described in our OAuth consent screen and verification submission. Setu does not use this data for any other purpose, such as advertising.
Limited Use disclosure: Setu's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular:
- Google Calendar data (raw, aggregated, or derived) is never used to create, train, or improve any foundational or generalized AI/ML model.
- Setu's AI assistant uses Google Calendar data only to read and write calendar events for the current user's own scheduling — this data is never used as training or fine-tuning input for any model, foundational or otherwise.
- Google user data is not sold, and is not shared with third parties except as necessary to provide or improve the specific scheduling feature described above, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (with continued protection under this Policy).
- Human access to Google user data is restricted to what is necessary for security, legal compliance, or with the affected user's explicit consent for support purposes.
A Customer or user can revoke Setu's access to their Google Calendar at any time from their Google Account permissions page, or by disconnecting the calendar integration inside the Setu dashboard.
5. How we use information
- To operate the core service — answering inquiries, qualifying leads, sharing requested documents, and scheduling site visits.
- To improve Setu — understanding common questions, response accuracy, and conversation drop-off so we can refine the product for all Customers.
- To provide customer support, send service updates, and communicate about account or billing matters.
- To maintain security — detecting abuse, spam, or fraudulent use of the platform.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use buyer conversation data for advertising or to build profiles for purposes unrelated to the inquiry the buyer made.
7. Data retention
We retain conversation and lead data for as long as a Customer's account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal, accounting, or dispute-resolution needs. Customers can request deletion of their account data, and buyers can request deletion of their own conversation history as described in Section 9, subject to any records we are legally required to keep.
8. Data security
We use industry-standard safeguards — including encryption in transit, access controls, and restricted internal access — to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, or loss. No system is completely secure, and we encourage Customers to use strong account credentials and enable any available account-security features.
9. Your rights & choices
Depending on your location and applicable law (including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and similar frameworks), you may have the right to:
- Access a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Withdraw consent to being contacted, or opt out of further WhatsApp messages by replying "STOP" or asking the Customer's sales team directly.
- Object to certain processing or request that we restrict how we use your information.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 13. Because buyer conversations relate to a specific Customer's property inquiry, we may direct certain requests to that Customer where they are the party best placed to respond.
11. Children's privacy
Setu is intended for use by real estate businesses and adult property buyers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and Setu is not directed at individuals under the age of 18.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. We will update the "Effective date" above when we do, and, for material changes, we will provide additional notice where appropriate.
